It's easy to make a pedigree chart for anyone who shares your genealogy, be that a child, spouse, parent, grandparent or unmarried sibling. Here's quick tutorial on how to do just that.
1) Click Import Family Names in the top right corner of the window, or click Import Names in the left sidebar. Either will open the Import sidebar panel.
2) Click "Sign in to FamilySearch", which will take you to a separate login window on FamilySearch.org and then redirect you back to Family Tree Prints once your credentials have been authenticated.
Then, if you want to make a pedigree chart...
FOR YOUR CHILD
Simply click the "Child of [Your Name]" from the drop-down menu under "Option A) Select first generation". You'll need to add your child's/children's name(s) manually by clicking on the center circle and typing in their name(s) using the main "Chart" panel (available from the left sidebar).
FOR YOUR SPOUSE
Simply click "[Your Spouse Name]" from the drop-down menu under "Option A) Select first generation".
FOR YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE TOGETHER
Simply click the "Child of [Your Name]" from the drop-down menu under "Option A) Select first generation", even if you have no children. Simply leave the center circle blank, or try adding an ampersand (&), plus sign (+) or a large capital letter from your last initial. To remove the color from the center circle, simply click on it and then choose "Advanced" > "Color"> Click on the "Background Color" swatch with "Individual" selected from the drop-down menu and change it to white.
FOR YOUR PARENTS
Simply click "[Your Name]" from the from the drop-down menu under "Option A) Select first generation". You can either add all your siblings names in the center circle (similar to how you would add a child's name as discussed above in the "For your child" section) or try one of the techniques described in the "For You and Your Spouse Together" section).
FOR YOUR GRANDPARENTS
Head on over to your FamilySearch account on FamilySearch.org and find the 7 digit alphanumeric FamilySeach ID for your mom or dad (if you want both your grandparents to be included in the chart) or for your grandparent (if you want them to be at the very center of the chart without their spouse). Copy and paste this code on the line provided under "Option B) Provide a Person ID". More details on this can be found here.
And voila! Now you can make charts for everyone in your family with a few clicks of a button. You better believe that's what I did today. #MerryChristmasEveryone!
