There are a decent number of templates for a family tree available online--we know, we've looked. What makes a Family Tree Prints' template so special?
1. No need to manually input 1023 individual names by hand.
That's the number of names in a 10 generation genealogy chart. Ouch! This belongs at the very top of the list because the time savings are so significant! You can import up to 10 generations of genealogy in just a couple of minutes by using our integration with Family Search or GEDCOM upload. You can, of course, still enter or edit names by hand if you wish!
2. Made for this century
There's a stigma that genealogy is for "old people," that is fast disappearing, as well it should! There are major benefits for anyone (including kids!) who know something about their family history, so we believe that genealogy charts (as visual reminders of our heritage) should be aesthetically appealing in the modern home. We think of each template for a family tree we build as a basis for family history as art in your home.
3. Easy formatting
For those of us who are OCD, or just appreciate a good clean line, this one is for you. Having manually entered a bazillion names on a PDF template for a family tree using Photoshop I can tell you that having each name already at the perfect angle (no matter how you modify your chart) is something you might take for granted using one of our templates. That's ok. Sometimes you get to learn from other people's mistakes.
4. Easy customization
Speaking of "no matter how you modify your chart"... as I mentioned before, we think of each of our templates as just a starting point. Our family tree maker is set up to allow you to customize font, font size, color, number of generations, what dates you'd like displayed, how big each generation is, etc., etc. Each family is incredibly unique. As is each person's preferences and decorating style. Should you be able to create a family tree chart that fits you perfectly? We think so. Since it's so easy to experiment, you can check out a variety of templates and modifications before choosing, or just go with the template for a family tree you picked from the very beginning. Your chart, your way.
Which of these four reasons speaks to you the most?
